Program: The Ins and Outs of eQSL.cc

This lively presentation starts with the paper cards of the 1920's and 30's and shows how much time and money can be saved by using the networked computer technologies of the 21st Century.  The founder, Dave Morris, N5UP will show how eQSL.cc has revolutionized awards and contests, how it has improved the quality of QSL cards, the speed of QSL exchanges, and how it is making 100% QSLing possible even for big gun contesters. The presentation will introduce people who have never heard of the Electronic QSL Card Centre, and will answer questions of long-time members.
Finally we will discuss the bright outlook for growth in the future, our collaboration with ham radio organizations around the world, and our work to simplify QSLing for portables, mobiles, and county hunters.

After the presentation, N5UP will answer questions and issue Authenticity Guaranteed (AG) status on the spot to anyone who brings an FCC license, and will make special deals available for membership upgrades.

New Club for Morse Code Enthusiasts

A new club has been formed among Amateur Radio operators who are Morse Code (CW) enthusiasts.  It is called The CW Operators’ Club (CWops).  CWops encourages the use of CW in Amateur communications, and it promotes goodwill among Amateurs around the world by planned CW activities.

CWops is international in scope, membership and management.  Its focus is the use of CW, whether for contesting, DXing or rag-chewing.  Moreover, it promotes every form of sending -- if it's CW, CWops supports it!

For further information, go to www.cwops.org.  There you will find everything that you might want to know about CWops, including our bylaws and articles of incorporation, our planned activities, an explanation of how to become a member, and a list of current members.

QCWA Chapter 12 - Andy Clark - Miami, Florida
Chartered February 15, 1962

QCWA Chapter 12 meets on the 3rd Saturday every month at Noon at the Piccadilly American Cooking restaurant at 8301 West Flagler Street in Miami.

The Andy Clark Chapter 12 was charted February 15th 1962 as the Southeast Chapter #12 . On January 14th 1999 the name of the chapter was changed to The Andy Clark Chapter 12 in Andy's Memory. Andy became a silent key on December 31st 1998. Andy was a Florida Legend in the Florida Ham Community.

Andy was born in Kansas on May 21st 1923. He was first licensed as W9KCS at the age of 16. He joined the US Navy during world War II and lost several fingers during a accident on shipboard.

He founded and published "Florida Skip", a ham magazine that carried the news of all the Ham activities in the state of Florida. He was a life member of QCWA and ARRL. He was a FCC section Emergency Coordinator in addition to being Chairman of the Community Red Cross. He was employed for many years as a radio operator at Aeronautical Radio. He was President of Chapter 12 many times and served as its guiding light.

Public Service was always a word he associated with ham radio. He was a Florida legend in Amateur Radio and our chapter felt we needed to honor Andy by naming our chapter after him.
